HP Fall Market Vibes… You’ve Made Us Moody.
Brand Manager over here, just being honest.
I started with Essentials For Living as an Account Manager back in 2018, and as we look ahead to our 50th Anniversary in 2027, I’ve found myself doing a lot of reflecting. Recently, a conversation came up about our journey—and just how much our brand has evolved, elevated, and transformed over the past few years. It got me thinking about where we started, where we are today, and, most importantly, where we’re headed next.
For those of you who have been around for a while, you may remember our early days at Showplace, surrounded by a sea of our signature look at the time: gray and white. (And yes, it was all the rage.) I loved how Daniel House Club captured our aesthetic during this era, describing us as, “…the Diane Keaton of furniture.” While our furniture may not have made an appearance in a Nancy Meyers movie—though, Ms. Meyers, please reach out if you ever change your mind—we definitely embraced that quintessential coastal aesthetic. Think relaxed, refined, and effortlessly layered with foundational gray and white pieces.
But, as with any good design story, things evolve.
While we still offer many of the signature rope pieces that reflect our Southern California roots, we’ve also been on a journey inspired by something we value immensely: your feedback. And your feedback has pushed us to explore a moodier side of our personality.
The Fall 2026 Market has, in short, made us moodier.
Think deeper tones. Richer textures. More contrast. A little more drama. And a fresh perspective on what Essentials For Living can be. This isn’t about leaving our roots behind—it’s about building on them.
So, consider this your sneak peek at where our journey is taking us next. Scroll below for a little taste of what’s new, and then make your way to High Point to experience it in person. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.
